gscanbus software package provides scan IEEE1394 (firewire/i.link) bus, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gscanbus
gscanbus is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gscanbus package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gscanbus *
You will get with gscanbus package name, version, architecture and description in a table
